I'm a fan of this lineup versus RHP (speed be damned):

1. Kim DH 2. Smith LF 3. Machado SS 4. Davis 1B 5. Jones CF 6. Rasmus? RF 7. Schoop 2B 8. Castillo C 9. Hardy SS

If we managed so sign a Pagan or trade for a guy with a little more speed I would move him down in the lineup, but right now I like him at 1 or 2.

This Seattle fan would have preferred Wade Miley, as I have proposed on this forum.

I've been obsessed since the Taijuan Walker trade on how the Mariners would fill out the starting rotation. I've proposed trades for perhaps a dozen starters but Yovani Gallardo (and Ubaldo Jimenez) never made the cut in my eyes.

Kudos to the Orioles for a solid trade ... I'll try to remain optimistic from the Seattle end.

Not sure I agree the "jury is still out" on the Miley deal btw. I see your point, but last year it was a win for Seattle. Miranda is younger and MUCH cheaper, clear win for them. We will see what happens this year.

This is a very nice trade for the Orioles. I gotta admit that DD is the master of pulling Rabbits from his hat late in the offseason.

Nice trade. I remember Smith last year. Always seemed to be getting the big hit when they played us. I think Gallardo will fare better in Seattle than he did here so it's a good deal for both teams IMO. Not sure what we're going to next.
