I agree that is the way it turned out.  The Os were trying to get more flexibility.   Roe was out of options.  He was in the minors and being paid a major league salary.  Ondrusek had a major league history and an had options left.  Ondrusek just didn't pitch well enough to make the switch work.

Roe had major league stuff, Ondrusek didn't.

Agreed.   Ondrusek had major league stuff years ago.  It didn't show while the O's had him.
