The Orioles need to release Ubaldo before tomorrow's game. Enough is enough allready. His performance is absolutely embarrassing. Why do the Orioles put up with it?

Because they have so many options?

It is getting in the range of eatable.  Less than half of the 13 mill to go.  Red Sox eat nearly 50 mill and 19 mill against their competitive balance tax every year through 2019 with Panda release.  We might eat 5 mill with Ubaldo, but I doubt it.

They should release Miley and Tillman too, while they're at it.  Give Alec Asher, Jayson Aquino and Gabriel Ynoa their rotation spots. They can't do any worse, and in any case the team might as well see if any of them can improve by the end of the season and be a potential back-end option going forward.

The season is lost; no point wasting any more playing time on expiring assets who aren't helping you win games now anyway.

Oh, they should fire Roger McDowell too.

I said this several weeks ago. Ubaldo is a drain on the team mentally. Release him and fire McDowell. Please!

Think of the money paying fans. Like me ! I'm a season ticket holder and I am beyond being fed up.

If changes don't happen soon the fans will stop showing up and ticket sales will slow to a halt.

27 runs in 3 games. Incredible !

I say keep him, regardless of his performance, and force him to throw 125 pitches every 5 days. Put him on the mound, and don't let him exit unless he gets drilled in the eye with a baseball. We need an innings eater and he should be able to go 4 innings every 5 days even if he gives up 12 runs. It's not like anyone else on our club or farm system could do any better.

In fact, I'm happy when the Orioles have non-competitive games where they lose 8-0, 10-0, or worse. That's good for making the case to the braindead, comatose leadership that it's time to blow up this team. Wins only give them pause and make them doubt and commit less to selling.

Ubaldo is actually helping the Orioles. Keep sending him out there.

The only caution is that developing pitchers should not be overmatched by the batters they face.  If a guy is working on a changeup, for example, he needs to learn how to sneak it by a so-so hitter first in the minors.  If he throws it in the bigs and every time it is a HR, he can not learn how to improve.

    • Didn't see today's game in it's entirety but I will say this.  I feel 100% more confident with Mateo playing second and turning  a DP rather than JH right now.  JH will be fine there.  In time.   But even forgetting his hitting, D wise he just isn't there yet.   And yes I know the metrics say he is fine.  But to me, using the eye test, he looked very shaky fielding and throwing,
    • I like Kevin.  He is constantly improving.  My only beef is that he doesn't seem to understand that a foul ball isn't always out of play.   A ball can be hit foul, but still be in the field of play.
    • My preferred day 3 WR would have been Troy Franklin, but he apparently had a bad combine on positional drills (which might have been because he had the flu.)  And he got picked by Denver pretty early.   Devontez Walker is kind of intriguing.  He's 6'2", barely.   A bit on the skinny side but ran in the mid-4.3s.  His route tree is pretty limited, mostly short quickouts/slants and go/post routes. But he's really good at the deep routes.  Sort of a discount DK.  He's reported to have good hands and good deep ball tracking ability as well.  We have to see how that translates in the pro game.
    • Adley looks way more energized and McCann is veteran catcher who is good defensively and handles the pitchers well.  Doesn't really make sense to wear Adley out when the O's are using him at the top of the lineup.
    • Just seems like a more controlled swing from the right side, shorter, flatter.
    • He was signed in the Covid year when they only had a 5 round draft, which is why he was undrafted.  Was showing promise bur tore his UCL in 2022.  Pitched a little last year, this is his first full year back.  Nice to see the good outing.
    • What's up with Brandon Young? Out of nowhere (#30 prospect above... undrafted?) he goes 3 IP with 0 hits or walks, and 7 Ks, throwing an otherworldly 26 of 31 pitches for strikes, in Bowie's game today.
