Never.  Orioles boof the pooch on this because the trade packages offered aren't enough, so they keep him.  He walks, we get a comp pick.

The rule 4 draft is June 4-6.  Right now the Orioles are 13-30.  By the 6th I will say they are roughly 20-42 (10 games, 7-12 record) and over 20 games out of first.  They will announce they are open to trades in the two weeks after that, let him play the all star game as an Oriole (good optics) and trade him within the week after the game.

If they trade him before the break who is the Orioles all star representative?

It's such bad optics to have him wearing a different uniform at that game.  That's why it will be after.

I predict at the trade deadline.  They should be able to get the most then as Manny's salary will have the least impact on teams and teams will be desperate at that time.

I think before the season started would have brought a better return, with being able to hit him with a QO and getting a pick.

The Orioles don't trade Machado, and they sign him to a long-term extension at season's end ........ perhaps 10 years for $275 Million.

Peter and John are driving the bus. Dan has been thrown off the bus and Buck and Brady are holding on for the ride.
