That is such a big “if” that it’s almost not worth discussing.    I don’t think anyone really doubts that Davis can still hit the ball a long way when he connects.    But he’s connecting less and less and seems to have great difficulty recognizing pitches and pulling the trigger.

He still retains his confidence that things will change, as told to Joe Trezza a few days ago (a very well-written piece btw).

Davis is confident the adjustments will bear fruit, though he admits “you can’t just ignore” how tangible results have yet to arrive. A bout of bronchitis and a strained left hip flexor haven’t helped. Regardless, he went into Saturday just 4-for-29 (.138) with 16 strikeouts this spring. Another marathon year waits a few days away.

“There is still hope, and a lot to look forward to as far as my career is concerned,” Davis said. “I’m ready to step into the next phase.”

Isn't the denouement the final act?

For several former Orioles, the "next phase" they stepped into was a pothole in the parking lot. We should be so lucky.

I honestly hope he is right.    I just don’t see any evidence that he is.

Inculcate from Frobby and denouement from COC?

At least I didn't need to look words up with SportsGuy.

And full sentences in French from bobmc.    It’s the Tower of Babel around here!   Restore order!
