If this is indeed the case, then there is at least a mild possibility that the extra rest will "re-energize" Means' pitching arm in some way, shape, or form.

Of course, it is equally possible that Means will also sustain some rust in his first couple of starts back from this mild injury.

If the starters could do that every time, I'd be more than happy. Hopefully Hyde will stretch out Means another inning in his next start.

Still only half a season, tempered emotions. I keep waiting for him to collapse (like so many others before him) but he just doesn't. And he seems to do it with such ease and aplomb.
