This should be fun. 

Harvey has allowed 1 run in is last 7 outings covering 9 innings and striking out 15.    In his last 2 outing of one inning each he stroke out the side.

I would think we will see Tate back in the majors sometime in the next two weeks.   He is also on the 40 man roster.

I also have to wonder what this means to Mountcastle, Akins and Kremer who need to be added to the 40 man roster this off season?

I'd guess it means they will be added when they have to be added. It's not like our current Major League roster is loaded with untouchables.

Guess they brought him up so he can reach his innings limit in the majors and then be optioned back before rosters expand. There's no reason to push him past the limit they've set for him.

Akin is all about whether he has the innings left.

But don’t you have to wonder why he was brought up when he has a limit on innings he can pitch? To it seems kind of silly to bring him up to pitch then send him back down?

They aren’t worried about his service time. Even if they shut him down he can be on the team the rest of the way and be around the team.

Next year all that changes.

He won't pitch anymore once he's sent down (if he's sent down). He'll reach his limit with the O's and be shut down until the spring.

Good. He definitely seems like a better bullpen option at this point than some of the guys we are trotting out there. Let him get his feet wet and hit his innings limit here.

Agreed.   Looking forward to seeing how he does against major league hitters. If he does well out of the bullpen the rest of this year I wonder if they will give him a chance to stretch back out again next year to potentially be a starter.    One can dream....
