Solid point.  I'd say that Arod, particularly injured, end of his career Arod, wasn't at the level of popularity I'm talking about.  Arod is similar to Bonds, he was never liked despite his immense talent.  I think a positive test for someone like Trout, or Jeter when he was playing, would have a much larger impact.
