Madden signs with Angels for Three Years

I’m not opposed to Hyde And I don’t have a clear sense of how good or bad he managed this season. He was just “the guy”

I also have no idea how Maddon would be coming in to this circumstance, but he brought the Rays up from nothing, and Tampa Bay has a history of very good pitching every year.

I’m just wondering if Baltimore might participate in the feeding frenzy that’s going to surround his departure from Chicago if and when it happens.

If Maddon leaves he's going to end up someplace that is a lot closer to competitive than the O's.  I've read the Padres would make a push.

Why would Maddon want to come here? And even if he was interested in the Orioles, I doubt he would be willing to undercut his former protege to get the job.

Angels will too. He spent several years there and is well regarded there.

Yes, a million times, yes. But Maddon isn't going to want to come here with the way the O's are currently constructed. Maybe in a couple years when they're on the cusp of being competitive. Maddon would be a huge upgrade over Hyde.

I"m not sure the O's will be one of the teams ever willing to pay a manager big $$. Maddon will go to someone who will.

Saying that, this is a moot point. Hyde is going nowhere for now and Maddon doesn't take on complete rebuilds in year 2.
