Madden signs with Angels for Three Years

I’m not opposed to Hyde And I don’t have a clear sense of how good or bad he managed this season. He was just “the guy”

I also have no idea how Maddon would be coming in to this circumstance, but he brought the Rays up from nothing, and Tampa Bay has a history of very good pitching every year.

I’m just wondering if Baltimore might participate in the feeding frenzy that’s going to surround his departure from Chicago if and when it happens.

If Maddon leaves he's going to end up someplace that is a lot closer to competitive than the O's.  I've read the Padres would make a push.

Angels will too. He spent several years there and is well regarded there.

5 highest paid managers

Three managers lead the list with salaries of $6 million a season: The Los Angeles Angels' Mike Scioscia, the Chicago Cubs' Joe Maddon and the San Francisco Giants' Bruce Bochy.

The Cleveland Indians' Terry Francona ($4 million) and the Baltimore Orioles' Buck Showalter ($4 million) round out the Top 5 on the list.
