True, not awful, but a step down from his 2017 season, and throw in 2016 too.

Has he peaked and this is new baseline norm?

Maybe / Maybe not, time will tell.

I would take him on a 1 year deal, but long term and price range, would be a concern.

I agree.   And to be clear, we’re talking generally, not about the Orioles, right?    Because I don’t see the Orioles going after him in any event.

Correct, I agree with your assessment of the situation. He will land anywhere but Oriole Land, unless he does something crazy like offer to play here for league min, which has the probability of happening, like hell freezing over.

Bumgarner's 5/85 has $15M in deferrals, and Hazen expressed gratitude at the press conference for his flexibility on structure.

MLB Network has a Rosenthal tweet saying deferrals are in middle 3 years and annual payouts are: 6/19/23/23/14.

I just looked at Diamondbacks long term and Mike Leake's 5/80 in its final year seems to be awfully close in raw dollars to Bumgarner's given it is a 4-year old contract.  Diamondbacks only owe Leake 6 of this year's 15, but they are paying 10 of Greinke's.
