I think if the concerns over the virus continue into the summer you will probably see significantly decreased attendance.

The Olympic Committe is considering cancelling the Olympics so this isnt really idle banter at this point.

Given the cheating scandal and possible coronavirus concerns I think you might see a significant bad turn for baseball.

You have to wonder about something that iron fisted China can't keep in check. Maybe start to stock up on some canned goods and bottled water just in case. You know just a little beyond the norm when you go to the market the next time.

So far I have made just one significant change.   About once a month, I take $200 and go to the casino (either MD Live or Horseshoe).   Sometimes I lose it, sometimes I win, sometimes I break even.   My favorite table game is pai gow poker.   50-60% of the players at the pai gow tables are of Asian descent, mostly Chinese, as are a good # of the dealers.

You are all handling the same cards (2 decks in play, one is in the auto-shuffler while the other is being dealt out).   And of course was you win you get chips handed to you and taken away wh en you lose and they go back in the dealer's chip tray until they get handed to someone else who wins a hand.   And if the table is full, the 7 players are bunched pretty closely together.

I have not gone to a casino since Jan 11 and probalby will not be in the forseeable future.   Just too high a chance someone at the table knows someone who has visited China recently

Looks like an Israeli company has developed a test, hope it can be mass produced quickly.

We would have enough kits but the ones we have are not reliable.

New York City and New York State are developing their own tests to detect the coronavirus amid issues with a test developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Buzzfeed News reported

Earlier this month, the CDC released a genetic test in the US for the virus, which was sent to approximately 100 state and city labs, in addition to overseas sites. However, the test’s results were proven unreliable, and fewer than a dozen labs produced definite results, according to the report.

I have come around to not stopping the season and allowing fans at all games.  It isn't so deadly for people under 50.   And it is probably more widespread than people think.  I think it is inevitable that this is spread widely before a vaccine is created.  We can't hide for 18 months until the vaccine comes out.

That's okay.  I'll take what Buzzfeed says with less than a grain of salt.

Don't worry.  Dr. McCoy is on the case.

The Olympic said they have a 3 month window to make a decision about the summer games.
