Let’s face it...Manny is a D-bag. He was when he was here and he remains so today.  He’s an immature, spoiled punk.  If he was a Yankee or Red Sox player and acted like that, he would be Orioles

I'm torn... I miss Manny, EVERY day. He's a special hitter and he's Brooks Robinson at 3B (and I DON'T say that lightly!)

And yet... since we had him... And much more since he's been gone... Manny is a dumpster fire. I TRY to root for him... but he makes it harder and harder to do. Does more st00pid sh!t every series.... Maybe if he hit more than .200+ in the post season it would be easier.......

He had some outbursts with us, but I feel he’s been much worse since we traded him.   Of course, I’m not watching him play every day, so I probably only see him when he’s done something great or terrible.   

I also think the game has headed this way.    Behavior that was unacceptable 20 years ago is commonplace now.    I’m an old fogey so I preferred the old school way where players didn’t get overly demonstrative or overtly try to show up their opponent.    But, I guess younger folks find this appealing or at least exciting.

Let’s face it...Manny is a D-bag.

He was when he was here and he remains so today.  He’s an immature, spoiled punk.  If he was a Yankee or Red Sox player and acted like that, he would be Orioles fans most hated player.

He’s not a $300M player to me because to be that guy, you need to be more than just a great player (and it’s borderline if he’s great to begin with).  
 

I wish he was an Oriole but only had they signed him much earlier in his career, as the rumors stated they were close but didn’t get it done.  Otherwise, I wish they had traded him after the 2016 season for a huge haul of talent.

This is the biggest point here.i don’t care if he acts up once in a while. It means he has fire in his belly. The fact that he disappears in the playoffs is the Manny problem.

Similar to a certain Ravens QB that performs badly when the team is down or in the playoffs.

To me he hasn’t had enough playoff experience to draw any grand conclusions.  SSS and all that.

I don’t know..28 games and 122 PA in the postseason is a pretty solid sample size for this discussion.

I think his struggles point to his immaturity.  He wants to crush everything.  Doesn’t stay within himself and in the moment.

122 PA over four seasons and nine years.

      Well the NFL Rams franchise deserves some mention as they started in Cleveland in 1937, moved to LA in 1946, moved to St. Louis in 1995 and back to LA in 2016.  Fascinating that in each stop they have won a season’s ultimate prize (either NFL championship or Super Bowl)!       I still say crochet isn’t traded. It makes sense for Chicago to trade him but they could still get a ton for him in the offseason or at the deadline next year if things go right. I do not feel his value is at its peak right now BUT his value does risk to take a huge drop if they don’t trade him. It’s not an easy spot to be in for anyone involved in this decision.

      I don’t think many/any want or are eager to get rid of any of our very talented young players/prospects. However, I for one, am even less eager to see us roll with the pitching staff as is. The question/dilemma is what is the right amount of talent to acquire this year (and potentially beyond given the state of the rotation) to give us the best shot possible to be successful in October? And how to we balance that against our future potential/possibilities that some of the young players provide. It’s a very precarious position that Elias is in. We all hope that he makes great decisions that lead to both success now and in the future. But I get where you are coming from Kjerstad seems to have an elite power tool as the ball seems to really carry off of his bat.

      I’m disappointed more O’s didn’t get in, but it’s hardly the biggest travesty in all star history, so, shrug. Jim Palmer mentioned on the broadcast that he didn’t make the All Star team two of the three times he won the Cy Young.

      I get that everybody wants the best of both worlds. But 2 questions: 1) What would be the plan for the pitching next year if we just went the rental/shortest term route? 2) Is Quantrill a guy that you trust making postseason starts? If so, what gives you confidence in him?
