I’m a little conflicted on this one.

Diaz was in 3 of the last answers, so I would think he has to be here BUT the only option is him and Akin..I would think Tony values Kremer over Akin but I don’t know that for sure.  
 

I will stick with Diaz at 9 here and give Akin the nod at 10.

I know Tony thinks Akin is likely a reliever long-term, so I'd be pretty surprised to see him here. I also doubt Vavra is quite this high. So that basically leaves Kremer and Lowther, and I can't see how Lowther would be ranked higher than Kremer, so I'm going with Kremer and Lowther.

I went Diaz and Akin, but honestly think we have a close bunching here. I just want to say that given what we saw the fact that at least one of Akin and Kremer will be #10 or lower is a good sign for the team's future. I think both have a future as a SP and the main factor in either in the pen is only depth at this point with Grayson, Hall, Baumann, and Means all ahead.

I liked what I saw from both Akin and Kremer, but I liked Kremer a little better and Tony has said Akin could still end up as a reliever.   So, I’m rejecting all the options that put Akin ahead of Kremer.   That leaves the two Lowther/Kremer options.   Since nobody here saw Lowther pitch this year, it’s tough to judge which order to put them in.   Tony had Kremer at no. 4 in 2018 and downgraded him in 2019 due to some lost velocity.    He regained some velocity this season, added a cutter and I’ll guess that’s enough for Tony to jump him back over Lowther.

Tony is still skeptical about Akin, less so about Kremer. He also thinks Diaz is heading towards 4th OF status. So Kremer goes ahead of Akin and Diaz which leaves Kremer-Lowther as the choice.

Also, Lowther should have made his debut this summer, I don’t recall why he didn’t? Injury, I guess?

I like Kremer more than Akin.   Kremer/Lowther is the only choice that does that.  That is my vote.

Lowther didn’t pitch AAA last year, while Akin (full season at Norfolk), Zimmermann (7 starts) and Kremer (4 starts) all did.    It’s not that surprising he wasn’t jumped to the majors this year.   In fact, he wasn’t even pitching at the Bowie alternate site until September 4, only 3+ weeks before the season ended.

It would be a rather harsh drop for Diaz to fall out of the top 10 without playing a game in 2020 and with relatively positive comments on Diaz at the alternate site.  So I am keeping Diaz in my top 10.  There is only one option above for that.

Akin was a much better pitcher in the majors than I expected to see and think it is splitting hairs choosing between Akin and Kremer.

Lowther is my ace in the hole. Solid command.  High strikeout rates at every level despite underwhelming fastball.  Deceptive delivery from the left side.  He sounds like a better version of Akin. 

Kremer and Lowther at 9 and 10.  

Tony has expressed that he prefers Kremer to Akin recently so I guess Diaz is going to be outside of the top ten. He must have really not impressed in camp.

I am probably wrong on my guess but I don't get the argument for Lowther over Akin.  Yes, Lowther has impressive numbers through AA but he has reliever potential the same as Akin.  Akin throws harder and really came on with the changeup this year.   Akin showed potential at the ML level.  Interesting that, statistically,  Akin and Lowther were very similar one year apart at Bowie. I give the edge to Akin based on what he showed this year plus the better velocity.

+1, I don't like these options at all! My pick would be Diaz-Kremer. I had Diaz in the last round so I would be shocked if he fell out of the top 10. I don't think Akin has done anything to leapfrog over Lowther and especially Kremer, so I am puzzled why he would be here, but Diaz falling out of the top 10 would be an even bigger surprise.

Very good points, the reason I made my choice is because Toney seems to think that Aikin will be a reliever going forward, while Lowther still presents as a starter, and that means something to him, and he’s the boss. I was very happy with Akins performance this past summer. I remain curious as to why Hyde Seemed so reluctant to use him as a starter, and even said that he wasn’t going to.
