Bannon working out as a catcher this offseason

Who knows, it's doubtful it will lead to anything big, but his value would go up if he was good enough one day to be a backup catcher or at least have the ability catch in a pinch. It could allow the Orioles to still DH Rutschman on days he doesn't catch if Bannon was good enough to catch in a pinch.

I had to go pretty far back to find a Rylan Bannon thread, but a couple of nice plays by him. I don't think we've seen a barehand play at 3B like that in quite a while, maybe since you know who.

Seems similar to when Stevie Wilkerson donned the gear too, to try and get into a “super utility” role as a way to make the team.

Bannon left today’s day game in the 3rd, I think during an at bat. No idea what type of injury or what happened.

Injured during a swing (foul ball). Apparently limped to dugout while holding his ribcage. Hope it's not an oblique injury, but that's what would make the most sense.
