The kid has got a plus-plus big-league pitch.  That typically bodes very well for his future.

I’ve been to many Opening Days at Memorial Stadium and then Camden Yards.  Can’t say that I’ve seen a performance this masterful.  Mussina pitched some doozies but Means was Grade A+ today.

His change-up is pretty disgusting and he had some great location with it today.  If he has his change-up and at least a servicable fastball he shouldn't need a whole lot more to get through the lineup at least twice.  I think his first slider came in the 6th or 7th.

I'm looking forward to chanting "Zero Point Zero" when the Orioles clinch the AL East in September.

I almost forgot how much I enjoy watching baseball. Today was a great game. Means was outstanding, Ruiz made some great plays, Mountcastle with the big hit. And Jim Palmer was cracking me up talking about Joe West and his CD.

I missed Palmer in the booth.  Just imagine how great it would have been if it was Palmer and Thorne.

Great to see Means start off that way, especially since his final two ST outings were kind of shaky.    He really pounded the strike zone all game long.  I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do this year.

What a great game pitched by Means. The only hit he gave up was the leadoff batter, and then Means picked him off.
