I’m excited for Stevie. I’m quite fond of him and think he will find success if utilized correctly. He has hit very well every time he’s spent time with the Tides. Late bloomer type & hard worker. He’s quite athletic and in very good shape. He needs to give up switch hitting as Cedric has done. 

Rio was given every chance to succeed.

I don't expect Stevie to bring significantly more value on the field as Rio...but Stevie is a great clubhouse guy with a ton of energy.  Hopefully the ripple effect of his energy helps other teammates stay positive and motivated through this long season.

If Sanchez was the defender they thought he was letting him go made no sense. They cleared room to give Ruiz a chance and 1.5 months into the season he is DFA. 
 

At end of day losing Sanchez didn’t harm the team significantly but the infield defense would have been better.

He was injured last year. Got hurt in camp.

I am aware. They could have gone with any number of others without DFAing Ruiz though.

I'm glad they moved on from Ruiz. He had his chance and has been found wanting at the major league level. Wilkerson is nothing more than a stop gap, but he's versatile, plays hard, and was off to a good start at AAA. Why not?

This give us versatility Rio was just Meh at two positions....Stevie is Meh at four or five (and he pitches)
