Monday June 21: First summer game sees Orioles host Astros

I have seen a huge amount of terrible Oriole teams in the last thirty years or so in Baltimore....but this team might just be the most frustrating to watch.   They have very little Baseball IQ.

Akin was not good but he was not helped at all by his defense.   He deserved a little better fate.

Well, he gave a standalone concert unrelated to an O's game.  He wasn't part of their Summer Concert Series of ore and  post game concerts which ran for several years, which I believe have all been 100% country.

Second game in a row for him where that is the case.  Take away the 5 run innings which have featured poor defense,and he's been pretty good.  (too lazy to try to do green font on my phone or get out of my chair to walk 6 feet to my computer where it's easier.)

I’m just disappointed. I was hoping that Stewart was turning into something worthwhile, and although I definitely don’t want Mountcastle in left, Stewart Doesn’t seem any better in the outfield.

Wow, I looked through the 2019 list and geez, that's a lot of fungible white female country singers.

There were runners on first and second and the batter singled through the hole to left field.  The ball slowed down in the wet outfield and the runner from second scored easily.  Hays threw to the plate, too late and several feet off to the third base side, allowing the runner from first to advance to third and the batter to advance to second.

Palmer, who can see the whole field, put the blame on Franco for not getting into position to cut the ball off.

I, who cannot see the whole field, wonder if Hays might have been able to keep the runners at first and second if he had thrown to Franco at third base instead of firing it all the way home.

Yep.  I believe one or both Angelos brothers are big country fans, even with a second home in Nashville?

And it's certainly been the focus of the concert promotions.

Meanwhile, I've been to 3 Nats games with post game concerts.  One was a country artist, I forget who but he was fairly well known.  The others were Blues Travellers and the Wallflowers.

Glad to see we are attempting to diversify a bit, even if I am somewhat ignorant of exactly what Diplo is about.
