Should the Orioles claim RHP Chris Ellis from TB? (Update: Claimed, Valdez DFA'd)

Guy sure hasn't been good in AAA, but I feel like that's becoming a theme for a lot of organizations.

Struggle against AAA hitters, but got the Orioles out. Again, I don't hold out a lot that he's nothing more than a place holder, but rather see him than Valdez at this point.

Ellis really never had high K rates in the minors like Sulser did, but Ellis was also a starter most of the time. Im curious why Tampa even called him up to be honest.

Better ballpark, better crab cakes, slightly cooler during the summer, not as many/not as good strip bars, colder winters, beaches not nearby and aren’t as good

I don’t know why it took so long? I thought it was a potential pick up as soon as I saw the article on trade rumors. I am always happy to get a reject pitcher from Tampa Bay.

Valdes managed to make almost half $1 million with the Orioles, he will do fine

Congrats on calling this one.  But I honestly don't know why Elias thinks Ellis can help the team.  He has failed as a starter and a reliever at AAA. He is 28.   He can be optioned but I am not sure he is better than what the O's have a AAA.  He looks like he would follow Hartman off the 40 man roster.

Obviously Elias sees something that I can't.  

By the way Hartman being DFA'd leaves a 40 man roster spot open.   I expect Elias will not leave that seat empty long.
