As a rookie he's walking in 13.3% of PAs.  Walk rate peaks in a player's mid-to-late 30s, on average.  So if he manages to avoid the catcher pitfall of being constantly injured and that derailing everything, it's plausible that he's walking a lot later in his career.  I don't know if he'll regularly get 600 plate appearances, but his rate will be high enough to get to 100 if he does.

Obviously nothing you can do about an injury but, that's gonna gnaw at Elias' craw a little bit.

He hasn't even made the pitchers fear him yet.    He's just a nice young man doing this ever so respectfully and politely.

Up to 11th YTD at Chase Rate among Bats with 250 PA.    The Top 10 for me kind of chunks down to:

MVP caliber Bats like Soto-Bregman-Muncy, whom he runs circles around in defensive value.

Pitch watchers/danged fleas like A. Hicks-Kwan-Straw-Yandy-Grisham, whom he runs circles around in SLG.

Vogelbach and Ji-Man Choi are kind of a middle ground, a bit more dangerous than Yandy, but again the glove.

Today his 162 Game Avg WAR back to starting with 7, not 6.     To the extent he himself is one of the biggest drivers of how good the Peak Adley Teams will be, the first half season returns on are we getting 7-win Adley or 3-win Adley are very promising.    Vlad and Manoah's Jays are going to be here the whole run, so extra fun to have one real good night very early on.    Psychobabble or whatever, Mullins and Adley punched a bully back and put adrenaline into Kremer's system.

Catcher defense is kind of beyond the OAA pale, but among the 1.75 year 2021-2022 results for the gloves it thinks are Top 20-ish, only Lindor, Arenado and maybe Matt Chapman look to me like they'll have the Bats to rival him on the short list of MLB's best 2-way players in the near term.    Obviously Wander in that conversation too, though so far his 2022 hasn't been Instant World Domination yet.

Curious to see if Hyde taxes him today and saves Chirinos for the Cubs at home.    Monday hometown off day 5 days away.

I think psycho babble is a good term for most of your posts, not as an insult. 
To your rest day point, we are coming to the point or are at the point that they are going to have to grind it out a bit more. There should be days where AR DHs a day game after a night game. They are in the thick of a playoff race and just because they aren’t built to go deep, doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

If he can finish in the top two while spotting the other candidates a quarter-season, I can’t begrudge him the extra year.   I’ll settle for a playoff spot as the consolation prize.   

I’m starting to think he’ll get some down-ballot votes in the MVP voting.

I agree. He is going to make the ROY voting very difficult this year and he should definitely get some MVP votes.

I think there's a shot he can catch Julio Rodriguez.

There are going to be voters that won't care that Rutschman was called up later.   But I think there are going to be voters that are intelligent enough to look at what Rutschman has done in the time that he's had and realize he's been more impactful than Rodriguez.
