After seeing these results I'm going ahead and predicting that Hyde finishes 8th in the AL manager of the year voting, and Adley goes two notches below Chirinos in the catcher Silver Slugger.

That's actually one position/league where the nominees are 1, 2, 3 in OAA. Manny was +8 but fourth.

I’ll just compare Mateo to the three nominees:

OAA: Mateo +11, Pena +7, Bogaerts +5, Correa -3

Rtot: Bogaerts +14, Pena +8, Mateo +5, Correa +4

Rdrs: Pena +15, Mateo +14, Bogaerts +4, Correa +3

UZR: Mateo +7.5, Bogaerts +4.9, Correa +1.0, Pena -6.3

Weighting each equally 4/3/2/1, you get: Mateo 13, Pena 11, Bogaerts 11, Correa 5.

What the actual heck are they doing? Even by the 2013 process I wouldn't think this is possible.

I am bothered less by the snubs of Adley and Mateo and more by the fact that MLB insists on calling these the finalists, which implies that there will be another round of voting to determine the winner, instead of calling them the more accurate top 3 vote getters per position.

Let me at least say that I’m very happy for Urias.  He did do an outstanding job at 3B and his stats reflect that.   He doesn’t get the oohs and aahs that Mateo does, but he was really good at 3B.  

Happy for Mullins too.  His case was a closer one.

When I saw him, he looked a lot better now than he was when he first played the position.  But the defensive metrics suggest he did not deserve a nomination.
