He has emphasis that its hard to find pitching on 1 year deals, to multiple sources.

His only FA pitching signing was a 1 year deal.

I'd give Sean Manaea a fighting chance of joining Grayson among the 2023 AL's best 45 starters.    Now that most of the important outcomes are known...

The best 15 are Cole, Cease, McClanahan, deGrom, Bieber, Gausman, Manoah, Castillo, Glasnow, Framber, McKenzie, R. Ray, Javier, Severino and (oh what the heck) Grayson Rodriguez.

The next best 15 are Kirby, Gilbert, Nestor, J. Ryan, L. Lynn, Giolito, Sale, Springs, L. Garcia, McCullers, Rasmussen, Montas, Sandoval, Singer and Berrios.

Beyond that...J. Gray, Urquidy, Manaea if he comes here....the talent curve isn't that steep anymore.    It just matters don't have guys throwing glorified batting practice.

Fact- he told the Sun it HAS BEEN HISTORICALLY hard for the Orioles to find 1 year deals for pitchers DUE TO THE PREVIOUS DIMENSIONS. You're leaving out critical info. 

That doesn't mean the plan is to ONLY find pitchers on 1 year deals. Because he also confirmed he has MULTIPLE MULTI-YEAR OFFERS OUT TO PITCHERS.

He's already got a guy on a one year deal.  I'm not sure why he wants to target a second if he is also planning on bringing in a top half of the rotation guy.

You do realize that it WASN'T DUE TO THE PREVIOUS DIMENSIONS, at least not mostly.

It was due to a combination of the dimensions, the Orioles being cheap, the Orioles being bad, the Orioles playing in the AL East and the Orioles having super stringent physicals with a reputation for wanting to change deals after the physical.

Do you really think the left field wall was the major reason folks said no thanks?

Not as if the O's haven't signed guys on one year deals anyway.

Im not too impressed with the dude he got on the 1 year deal. 

They dump the guy making 10 mill, sign the older guy making 11 mill while his career is a bit better, he had a worse year.

I think Elias doing doing smoke and mirrors, and a disservice to the fans, but thats just an opinion not shared by all.
