Moustakas for lefty bat

I know this won't really be a huge impact, but I think the left handed bat to replace the O'Hearn/Diaz carousel could be Mike Moustakas.  His OPS is certainly much better against righties than vs lefties.  I think he could be a solid guy off the bench, platooning a bit with Mountcastle and can fill in a role at DH too.

He shouldn't cost much since Cincy is on the hook for his $22M he is still owed.

Thoughts?

Sure, why not. Moustakas, Hosmer, Lorenzo Cain, James Shields, Wade Davis, let's just bring in whoever is still breathing from the KC gang that hijacked us in 2014. For old times' sake. ;)

(sorry for the snark, this is just what happens to me when those names pop up, nine years later)

Don't forget Billy "Bratwurst" Butler.

That and his "These O's Ain't Royal" tee shirt. He can suck it.

The Kansas City Royals right-hander unwittingly created a bit of controversy Tuesday night when he wore a T-shirt that read "These O's Ain't Royal" to a post-game press conference following his team's 2-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in Game 3 of the ALCS, putting them on the brink of sweeping the best-of-seven series.

The slogan was a play on Brown's rap song, "These Girls Ain't Loyal."

Moustakas has been bad the last two years.   If it's because of injuries maybe there's something left there.   His defense at 1B his probably below average.   I'd just as soon as have Lewin Diaz for late game defense, and sporadic AB's at 1B.   Diaz popped 8 homers in 40 games in 2021.   At this point, I'd rather gamble on the 26-year old than the 33 year old.
