Dbacks designate JB Bukauskus for assignment

I imagine we'll grab him up, Elias likes to bring back guys he had in the Astros organization and Bukauskus was one of Elias' 1st round picks.

He was a key piece that went to Arizona when Houston acquired Greinke.

Probably another reason why Elias hates pitchers early in the draft, although at least he helped them get Grienke.

Is he an upgrade over Gilaspie, Cano, or Politi?  Probably not. He does have an option year remaining.

Crazy stat for JB. He was a first round pick in 2017 but he doesn’t even have 200 minor league innings And he only has 17 ML innings.

I don’t think anyone knows what he is. At this point, being 26, he’s probably a reliever and that is how he has been used lately. How is his stuff?  Clearly he has been hurt, so how has that effected him.

This is a guy you take a shot on and see if you can unlock something with him. It’s a low risk type move.

He’s also from Virginia, so maybe he would like being closer to home.
