Bemboom DFA, O’Hearn is called up

Given McCann hit clean up yesterday. I clearly have no idea what to expect this team to do on a day to day basis with the lineup so I'm not even going to try and speculate what O'Hearn's role will be.

I think this makes Vavra redundant. Who is he subbing for now?  Need a RHH OF that ideally plays good defense.  Eventually will see upgrades to McKenna and Vavra.

Why I think Vavra goes down soon. I was saying all spring I didn’t think with current roster configuration he was a good fit. Hasn’t played a game on infield all year.  Stowers can replace Vavra 

 

issue with McKenna is finding a RH bat. Trade may be required.

So...where's he gonna play?  Gonna give Mountcastle a breather every so often?  Fine.  Pinch hit?  Fine.

I don't think anyone is thinking that O'Hearn is an answer to our outfield defense issues.

Possible Santander gets another day off. May see Urias instead or Vavra.

Vavra is redundant. It’s called being a bench player. He’s actually the only player we’ve given a true pinch hit role to since Delmon Young. Vavra needs to embrace that. Dare I utter the name Terry Crowley.

I'd give Vavra a start. You've got a RHP and give Hays and the outfield a not so subtle message that throwing to the wrong base doesn't get you playing time. Of course we tell the press that we have a RHP and Hays could use a routine rest day.
