I've seen too many cutters hit out against the Orioles. I'm starting to think that pitch should be eliminated from the repertoire altogether.

Ripken does not usually make these kind of statements about players.  I heard him myself make it (I think on a podcast last week) and only thing I can think is that he thinks long term Gunnar is a nugget and Mateo is not.  Or at least Mateo and his playing time isnt of enough importance to interfere with a kid who is obviously much much more talented than Mateo.  Maybe Ripken sees himself a little in Gunnar?  I think his opinion obviously should carry some weight with us fans.  Knowing how much of a talent evaluator Ripken likely is.

Not that it mattered, with Vavra hitting smack into a double play.  Clevinger is the type of pitcher I wish Wells would be.
