I'd prefer to watch the players actually play the game without the umpires constantly wedging themselves into the center of everything.  That's just me though.

Why cant they tell us about the play and not some crap advertisement?  The second base looked like he double clutched that and almost didnt make that play.

They're not wedging themselves in the game. They're doing the best that they can. It's not an easy job.

He was efficient yesterday too, 10 pitches in the 10th inning.   Of course in the old days when you had to throw 4 pitches to intentionally walk someone, he would have had 18 yesterday and maybe wouldn't have been available today!

Yep, maybe the one downside to the game speedup.   Some of the stuff they used to do to fill dead time now has to be done with action going on.

And a few times this year they have barely gotten back from commercials in time for the first pitch.
