That's the $24,000 question. The best lineup the orioles can put on the field against left-handed pitcher is:

1B: Mountcastle
2B: Ortiz
SS: Mateo
3B: Urias
LF: Hays
CF: Mullins
RF: Santande
C : Rutschman
DH: McCann

That's a hell of an infield defense by the way.

McKenna in the OF and Santander DH'ing is a better lineup

Defensively yes, but I think McCann's bat is better against lefties overall. He hasn't hit great so far but historically he should hit lefties.

Vavra played Catcher for 3 innings at Norfolk. Does anyone know if this was an injury/blowout situation, or is he literally getting tried all over the field?

Just have your pitcher pick off any baserunenrs.

Most teams don’t run a lot. So with the pitchers calling their own games, or the dugout doing it, you really just need a catcher to just “catch the ball”.  
 

I say give him more PT there. He’s also on fire down there with the bat in his first three. Maybe he just needed more ABs and we can actually develop him as a 26th man.

It was the game Norfolk won 20-1.

He grew up putting balls on a tee for Joe Mauer (and I believe his number last year #77 was a reference to Mauer), so it might’ve also been something of a novelty for him to get behind the dish in a 20-1 game.
