Getting Means back WOULD'VE have been the equivalent of a trade, now that is not an option so you are right - the Orioles will definitely be on the hunt for SP.

While I feel bad for John Mean's setback, counting on him to immediately revert to the effective, "pre-Tommy John" John Means and relying on him as a Knight in Shining Armor to bolster our pitching staff without considering any trade for a quality arm at the deadline would have been very short-sighted in my opinion, and would border on the "hope is not a strategy" theme.   I would not have considered his return to be my ace in the hole if I was "going for it."  I would hope we'd be smarter than that, but we'll never know.

Edit:  This post is directed at Orioles management, not you @SilentJames.

I think we all do. I was just funnin ya.

John Means sent my brother a personal message, and a signed ball right after his no hitter when my brother was in an ICU battling Covid .. my brother recovered and John Means has a very special place in my family’s hearts.

"Gonna be buyers",  I hope that doesn't mean the same thing that taking off in free agency meant.

Please don't get your hopes up.  I'll believe it when I see it.  I think teams will want to rape our farm system, and I don't be Elias letting that happen.
