Marlins placed both Sandy Alcantara and Jorge Soler on the injured list this afternoon - not good when you are in basically a four team chase for NL6.

Dane Myers the Soler fill-in will I guess now not be opposing John Means tonight.

Watching the Red Sox vs the Rays. I've watched 8 batters on BOS and Devers is the first guy I've recognized.

The Rangers losing again.  Them and the Jays are both trying to give away that last spot.  We are basically about 4 wins away from clinching the playoffs because of so many head to head matchups vs top teams

Jasson Dominguez's Yankees only 6 down in the loss column to TOR/TEX, and have 6 games of their own with Toronto.

Here are the pitching matchups for the SEA-TB 4-game set opening tonight while our guys have some chowdah.     

AL active roster rank in k-bb among Arms with 60 IP, a filter that does admit a few high workload relievers as well.    92 total in the list, about 6 per AL team.

(46) Woo v. (48) Civale

(29) Bryce M. v. (8) Eflin

*by ERA, Bradley is 12th worst in contrast to his 12th best k-bb.    He approximately fits the talented rookie pattern - hot stuff but hasn't mastered how to pitch.

SEA's biggest edge on paper looks like tonight...in fact the daily matchups trend toward Tampa's favor all series long.

Last year before Eflin's knee injury sidelined him after his June 25 turn, Eflin and Gibson were Phillies rotation colleagues with basically similar outcomes.    Mike Elias has a difference of about $30mm unused to oppose Eflin's 2024-2025 teams.    Fall 2022 Eflin returned as a very strong relief option helping his Club nearly to a dogpile.

I believe the 2023 Rays blueprint was for Eflin to do something basically similar, but by the They All Break outcomes for 2023, they need him to hold up as a workhorse SP2.

Pulling for the Mariners tonight as much as it pains me to say it.

Rays lose their best pitcher and their chomo shortstop, I thought they'd still be good but they just don't lose.

TB has Arozarena, Lowe, and Paredes coming up in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's a situation where they should bring the closer in to pitch the eighth and someone else to pitch the ninth.
