Westburg trade value

Why?

The players that provide minimal value/upside (Frazier, Urias, Mateo) are the first to go.

I think this is right. The O's replace Frazier's left handed bat with Holliday and Mateo & Urias with Oritiz & Norby. Mountcastle gets replaced (when he's ready) with Mayo.

I don't think there is a logjam in Elias' mind.

Is Westburg a proton and Ortiz an electron?

How can they not coexist?  Especially with Gunnar and Jackson being lefties...

Gunnar and Holliday are going to be 155+ game players..ie true everyday guys.

Only one can play second.

In theory, they have a lot of value as a piece in a trade. So, to keep one of them for a part time role is probably not getting true value out of either player.

You can use Urias for that role.

Let's circle back in April.

Maybe this is the wrong place, but anyone know why Wesrburg was replaced by Frazier in the 7th? It's definitely not a defensive replacement

I didn’t like the move. They had big lead at the time 12-6, (7th inning). Westburg is a better defender and was having a big night offensively after not exactly tearing the cover off the ball until this past week.

Felt like Hyde was “getting Frazier into a game” he thought was won. But who knows?

That's what I thought. Westburg had a chance to hit for the cycle too.

Don't know.   Unless Westburg is nicked up or was experiencing some discomfort or something after his last at bat,  it didn't make any sense to me.  Other than the 'let's show vets respect by letting them play over more talented players' thing that Hyde seems to love.  Otherwise I'd much rather have Westburg playing defense than Frazier.
