I didn't realize his curveball was that good. He threw a lot of great ones of both the ball-to-strike and strike-to-ball variety.

The only concern I had with spring training was if Burnes was pitching through arm discomfort and that's obviously not the case after today. Established veterans will use spring training to get their arm in game shape and work on certain pitches.

Burnes knows how to pitch it's not like he has to prove himself in the Grapefruit League.

It's possible this guy Burnes could wind up a pretty good pickup.

He missed his spot a couple of times in the first inning, and was basically perfect after that no matter what pitch he threw.  Wow, that was an amazing debut.
