I certainly wasn’t directing that comment at you.
It was a reference to a comment in the movie trailer. The little boy says something like, “ i’m 12 years old +2 years I’m a grown ass man.“ Or something like that I’m paraphrasing.

That’s why I made my comment. It’s incredibly sad that little boys who have so much growing and learning ahead of them claim to be men.
They maybe be one day, but they aren’t yet.

After a nap, that occurred to me. Glad I logged back in to see this. Thanks. I just posted the trailer without watching it again myself. The program itself is unsettling in the same way The Wire was in a lot of ways, and about the same thing you referenced.

They went from from the best and most unique celebration - the home run chain - to the most lame celebration in the handlebars. It's embarrassing. Hope the team gets rid of it soon.

There was nothing unique about the home run chain.  The Padres were doing it before the Orioles and their chain was cooler.

I don't agree with the accolades for the HR chain, but it was fine. The motorcycle does nothing for me. 

There are two varieties of these celebrations: for HRs (when the hitter is in the dugout afterwwards) and for other hits or other XBHs (when he's on base and signalling to the dugout). Are the Orioles doing anything this year for HR hitters? I haven't noticed.

I don't mind the hand revving on the bases, I think the handlebars are cringe, though. Luckily, they aren't hitting HR's so we don't have to see it.

Agree with some others i'm not really a huge fan of the motorcycle. The handlebars are ridiculous but whatever, if thats what they agreed on then fine, I dont exactly have much input.

They interviewed Adley about it and he definitely gave the impression that the celebration is not well received. I agree, it’s pretty dumb and honestly makes no sense. “Get your x-games on?” What?

Here’s an idea for a better celebration. Give em a giant crab claw hammer or a crab leg crusher thing. That would be sick!

They'll find something that's meaningful to them and we'll be along for the ride.  I'm glad the motorcycle thing isn't getting traction with them.  Seemed kinda dumb, but if that makes for a little fun for them, so be it.  but i think they'll just kind of find something organic amongst themselves and we'll catch on when they do.

Why not give them a very large fake crab they can hold by the claws in the dugout and when on base hold their hands up and and imitate claws pinching open and close a few times.
