Preller seems to not care about giving away the farm. They're going to regret 11 more years of Xander and Manny so they have to do something to show for all of the stupid contracts they are saddled with before they slip back to a 65 win team with a 280M dollar payroll.

I haven't quite followed as closely recently but this seems like the most I can ever remember.

The expanded playoff format has given much more leverage at the trade deadline to bad teams, which makes it easier for them to rebuild and become competitive, assuming they have a competent front office.

Signing FA's in the off-season is the way to go!  We have to give up too much in trades.  I'd rather give money instead of high level prospects.

Only? We're first in the division. It appears a lot of people think a mediocre month of July where we'll play just under sub .500 ball is how this team is going to play going forward. I would not bet on that.
