Might be cheaper … add him if you can get him for that. Also add Brebbia from the White Sox. He can probably be had for filler.

Cheaper?  I doubt the A's feel any pressure to discount Miller.

Has there ever been an elite closer throwing 100+ MPH with 5+ years of control traded at the deadline? I think you're underthinking his value significantly.

Zero chance Stowers and Povich gets it done. Not even close.

I agree I think they want prospects further away

We’re in first place by 1 or 2 games depending on the Yankee game and you guys are talking about packing it in?    OMG

I know Jesus, I may not want them to give up too many more good prospects, but certainly the season is not lost. They are still going to make the playoffs.

They would want Mayo or Basallo, plus some other stuff.

And they have no reason to back off of that demand. They will either get it from us, get a comparably valuable package from someone else, or keep him.

What was the highest Torres was ranked when he went in the Chapman deal?

50ish at the time of the deal. He didn't absolutely blow up in the rankings until he destroyed the AFL a couple months later.

I can't laugh any harder than 3 months of Garret Crochet being good makes him almost twice as valuable as Justin Steele who has an extra year of control.

6 IP, 15 K's for Snell tonight. Appears he is finally healthy after a rough start. Should we be focusing on him?

He has been absolutely lights out since July 9th(4 starts).

Yes from me in a vacuum, but his contract makes him virtually untradeable and therefore not worth what it would take to get him.

BaseballTradeValues.com often borders on the hallucinatory.

So the Phillies upgraded their pen and their outfield and it only cost them a couple of middling prospects.

Pretty shrewd series of moves.

Klassen is a big time prospect that had injury issues before being drafted but now healthy has blown up the rankings.  He is now ranked 3rd in the Angels minor leagues.  He has pitched 59 innings to a 1.97 era with 89 strikeouts.

Not as hard as the Cubs would laugh if you offered them Cowser 1:1 for Steele.
