I agree. I would like to see him used for multiple innings in a game that we are hopefully winning. If he is getting guys out, leave him in! Why use multiple guys and increase the chances of a guy coming in and not having it...think Dominguez.

Would require one of those two if they use a 9 man pen If it’s a 10 man pen then he sticks and one of those two goes you’re right it insane to have those two on WC roster

Do you think they resign Means? Should be cheap. When is he supposed to be eligible to pitch again?

Povich and Suarez both need to be in the bullpen for this opening series. After last year's playoff debacle, it's important to have a plan B that can go multiple innings.

I had a feeling that Povich would have a big start against his former organization that traded him. Also, to knock them out. 

I think I saw his ERA finished at 5.21. That’s not bad. I don’t think he had a “protected” ERA either. We let him take some beatings to eat innings some games. 

Losing Burnes will suck, but we have Eflin and Grayson has our TOR arms. Kremer and Suarez are #3.5 types. Povich is a #4.5 type. McDermott is our #6 SP for next season. 

As we learned this year, we probably need 8-9 SP options. I don’t know who else in the minors could step up as depth, but we’ll still have Bradish and Means as August/September hopefuls. We’ll just have to see what the new ownership does in their first FA.

IMO, he's certainly gotten better as the season has gone on.  There are some things to like.

I think he gets the 4th or 5th rotation spot out of ST next year.

Great finish to his year, he's absolutely put himself in position to be the #5 starter next year. 

Eflin, Rodriguez, Kremer, Suarez, Povich, Rogers are the 6 main guys right now. They will obviously go and get a couple starters this off-season too.

I,m becoming a fan of that two, but would not be available for game one. Also have to factor potential for longer extra inning games. No ghost after the 9th.

Young is deserving, and Rogers will be another option. Even on a contending team we need to find these guys opportunities. I don't think we should stack the team with Kyle Gibson types. 

I think a lot of folks are missing that Elias did his shopping early in the acquisitions of Eflin and Rogers. I am expecting one additional guy. Two would be overkill imo unless we are talking about minor league contract types.

Has Felix coming back. Also has some potential Trade Deadline shopping done with Bradish and Well ( and possibly Means ) maybe coming back 2nd half. I think he goes looking for one impact starter.

Am I crazy for considering starting Povich over Suarez if we make it past the wildcard round? Povich has been the better starter of late and Suarez is probably the better bullpen arm than Povich with how many lefty relievers we have.

Not at all. I’d especially consider him if it’s for a game at home where he’s pitched better overall

Could depend on matchups or do both in an opener/short leash game script. But keep in mind, Minnesota's offense makes a lot of guys look like CY Young. I'm just glad we got a few good starts down the stretch after Povich looked terrible at times

If we get two starters, then they would be fighting it out for the 6th spot, no?
