An honest question for the posters here, and not intended for anyone in particular: Is it possible some posters don't see emoticons or possibly misunderstand their meaning? -
Wow, not saying you are wrong but that sure seems like a lot. -
Ardoin is basically 4-years old than Basallo and his calling card is his defense. so yes, I believe Ardoin is ahead of Basallo defensively. I've seen nothing from Basallo behind the plate that suggests he can't play there at the major league level, especially in some kind of timeshare split that allows both he and Adley to have rest DHing. It really could be unheard of. Imagine having two of these guys in the lineup, one catching and the other DHing. Basallo is also improving at 1B where he's very limber and I could see him easily becoming a Mountcastle level defensive first baseman but with a plus-plus arm if they go that route. Either way, he very easily could be ready to be in a major league lineup by next year full-time. He's already cutting his K's down significantly of late. Once he's able to tap into that plus-plus power while keeping the whiff down, watch out. -
What is Mountcastles trade value right now at the deadline? Regardless of whether or not it is the right decision to trade him, what do you think he is worth? Is he worth a top 100 prospect? Or a middle of the rotation pitcher with a couple years of control? I don't know I am curious what everyone thinks. He is arb 2 next year currently making a little over 4M, so probably due at least what 7 or 8M next year?

Mountcastle, Kjerstad, Norby, McDermott and Tavera for Skubal. Not sure that’s enough for Detroit but that’s the type of deal I would put on the table. -

What team went out and spend significant resources to sign a #6/7 SP option, particularly one that is/was better than Irvin and/or Wells? -
