Has to be hurt. I know he played some yesterday but they wouldn’t play OHearn and not him if they didn’t have a good reason. -

I've mentioned this numerous times before, but the O's could --at some point-- try Holliday in CF. My reasons are: If the O's are convinced Mayo is the future (or very near present), Westburg would most likely play 2B, leaving no infield spots for Holliday. I believe Holliday has a solid arm and the athleticism to make the transition fairly smoothly, solving CF for many years to come. As well, he could still play 2B or even SS on occasion. I don't have faith that Bradfield will become our starter in the next couple of seasons. I prefer Cowser in LF. Mullins may or may not be back next year, pending whether he plays well enough in the 2nd half. -

Once. He last played CF on June 2nd-likely the box you saw. He had not supplanted EBJ in CF prior to his promotion if he played there once in ~20 games. He got his reps in CF mostly when EBJ was on the injured list. He's not viewed as a superior defender or baserunner to EBJ by any scouting report I have seen. Yes, Etzel is showing plus attributes but EBJ has 70 and 80 grades-they're not comparable in that regard. Yes Etzel was deservedly promoted quicker but that doesn't mean he is more valued by the Orioles or other teams. -
Mountcastle career # against Heaney: HR 2 BA .500 OPS 2.238 Maybe he’s slightly banged up or has terrible diarrhea or a cold etc otherwise doesn’t make any sense for him to be on the bench for this one. -
It’s a good thing, but Mayo is screwing up the FO plans. Holliday was supposed to be ahead of him and Westburg wasn’t supposed to be quite so good. Now Westy is pretty entrenched on the team. If you call up Mayo, then there is no place for Holliday. They need Santander gone to free up some space. They really should trade Mounty in the offseason. I am just not sure they can get enough. -
