You can do stuff like that if the owner is just collecting the profits and ignoring the team.

I was thinking that myself. No reason not to be able to take one of the last two games from an eliminated Twins team to get that mark. 

Let's hope they get it tonight so they don't have to worry about it tomorrow.

In the big game of things it doesn't matter, but it's a nice mark to make, especially after their 2nd half.

There’s another reason to want to get to 91 wins.   Take a look at this thread.  There have been 23 Orioles teams that reached 20 games over .500 at some point during the season.  In 21 of 22 previous cases, once the team got to 20 games over .500, it finished 20+ games over .500.  The lone exception was 1978, when the team reached 20 games over for the first time on the penultimate day of the season, then lost on the final day to finish 19 games over.   

This team reached 20 games over .500 on June 9, the 4th fastest of any team in O’s history.   It would be pretty sorry to finish less than 20 games over .500 after reaching that height that early.
