It's funny how people remember the afro and it is the hair style most closely associated with African Americans. I say it's funny because there is a hair style brought to the world that has dominated so thoroughly that people no longer associate it with Africans.

Short hair for men is 100% African.

Really? Julius Caesar says, "hi."

One could say there are exceptions to every rule or one could argue that there was ample African influence in ancient Rome. I don't know where the Roman custom originated but the modern custom came from Africa and began taking hold world wide in the early 19th century. Prior to that you'll rarely find short haired men.

You could argue the opposite since it was the Romans that conquered part of north Africa. Before the Romans, were the Greeks:

As to the "modern world of the early 19th century," Napoleon was influenced by the Africans?

Enough "history" of short hairstyles for men.
