The MASN gun (not sure if it's the stadium gun or not) had him at 96 and 97 during the last batter of the first! I'll take 94.4 though.

They were mentioning a mechanical tweak that helped Arrieta. It looks like he gained a few MPH on the fastball from last season (I could be wrong). Maybe it's a mechanical problem with Tillman that allows him to tinker with it in AAA? I just hope there isn't a mysterious loss of velocity this early in his career. At least D-Cab got a few years out of his fastball.

PitchF/X has his fastball velocity as nearly identical this year but his breaking stuff is a little harder. Usually pitchers throw harder as the year goes on so i imagine he is throwing harder right now than he was at the same point last year
