This isn't a move to get excited about, but I don't think it is a bad move as long as we're not paying him too much. He's got good defense, left handed, decent speed, and he can hit a ball. Sure hes not the best, not what we all want, but I think he will make a nice bench option.

All people complain about is how thin this org and team is - DD stockpiles depth - people complain.

What?

The organization is thin - meaning, not a whole lot of promising prospects outside of the top 5 or so.

We've added very mediocre big league depth.

What does one have to do with the other?

This was a likely although uninspiring move. Duquette did exactly what he said he was going to do. We have our left handed hitting fourth outfielder. I expect similar moves over the next two months. Nothing exciting. It looks like the O's are going with what they have plus one or two more pitchers for next year. I'm not too hopeful about Chen.
