First of all, I don’t see why putting Mayo(for example) at first is a bad thing. We can keep asking these questions but the reality is that it’s all going to revolve around Holliday And Gunnar. Basallo being able to stay at C is also part of this as well. If he can be the back up C, that’s enormous. Where they ultimately end up dictates everything else. What’s not happening is Westburg being moved to some kind of a super UTI role. He’s a starter Mayo probably ends up as a part time first baseman, part time RFer and part time DH..while perhaps getting the rare 3rd base start. This is where the Os push for versatility will be helpful. -

Sheesh, I was kind of hoping he'd aim higher than Kopech. This year is a little different than 2023. We have a much better chance at going deep and it would be kind of negligent of Elias to not aim as high as he can for the bullpen. That said, I agree with others that Stowers is the guy for this particular move. I can't see us giving up more than that, nor do I see the White Sox accepting less. -

Ultimately, I understand why the OP thinks G-Rod would make a better high leverage reliever/closer — but again, I think developing quality 1-3 starters is tougher to do. That said, Wells may already be the answer for moving from the rotation to the pen. Kremer isn’t a crazy idea either. Our BP is, to me, is the least stable part of the roster, if the O’s are hoping to make a run in the fall. -

Might be another Fuji but if the O’s can get him to throw strikes he’d be great.
