I'm sure Reynolds has batted over .300 for 25 games or so a few times, probably even for us. But not beginning on Opening Day.

Best 22 game streaks of Mark Reynolds' time in Baltimore

6/10/11-7/4/11: .329/.462/.800 10 HRs

5/4/12-6/14/12: .342/.462/.658 5 HRs

8/6/12-9/8/12: .306/.425/.736 10 HRs

2013 thru now: .291/.363/.620 7 HRs

This isn't even remarkable by Reynolds' streak standards.

Sorry but you are not counting his game tonight where he has a homerun and another hit and RBI.

Heh. I didn't add these up. I had baseball-reference do it for me. They don't update games in progress. A good night tonight still wouldn't get him close to any of the streaks listed above though.

He would look fantastic hitting after Chris Davis...

I know, you are tired of hearing it.

Did you not watch 2012? <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h367/isestrex/Emoticons/huh.gif" border="0" alt=" photo huh.gif"/></a>

Reynolds hit behind Chris Davis last year and "fantastic" wasn't the word that comes to mind. More like "occasionally dynamic"

Saunders performance tonight bests every single pitching performance we've had this year. Hate to say it but the OP is right on. Sometimes you gotta pay for quality, the bargain basement approach will only take you so far.

Saunders gave up 7 runs in 4.2 innings to Texas and 8 runs in 5 innings to Houston.

Britton gave up 6 runs in 6 innings to Seattle.

Gonzo gave up 5 runs in 5.2 innings to Tampa.

Tillman gave up 5 runs in 3.2 innings to Minnesota.

Stinson gave up 5 runs in 5.2 innings to Toronto.

Arrieta gave up 5 runs in 5 innings to Minnesota and 5 runs in 4 innings to Los Angeles Dodgers.

So Saunders two performances would be our two worst by a starting pitcher as well, or at least two worst plus Tillman's start.

But we were referring to this year, assuming he would be hitting the same as he is in Cleveland. If he was behind Davis hitting like he is with Cleveland, it would be like having 2 Chris Davis.

This is the same Joe Saunders who has a 5+ era and 1.47 whip this year?

The career 4+ era 1.3+ whip guy ? Are we being serious ? If Joe Saunders is the key to the Orioles making the playoffs then we have much more serious issues.

Andino and Casilla have been virtually identical this year, both horrible. I could see having kept Andino and not bothering with Casilla, but again - this is not a factor.

The only person who would have been really nice to have is Reynolds. I would have released Betemit and gone with Reynolds as full time DH. If he really didn't want to be a DH full time then there's not much to be said, I dont think we can be complaining about Chris Davis at all.

There's no way in the beginning of this year that they would have moved Reynolds off of first base to DH over Davis though. Reynolds showed he was capable at first last year while Davis did not.
