I don’t think one isolated 40 speed rating that could be driven by stereotyping based on frame is enough to completely write off the possibility Mayo could be an effective outfielder. -

I appreciate that take. Overall, Neither of McDermott, Povich, and Johnson, are not starters. Definitely not starters for a team that looks like it will be a perennial 100ish win team for a few years. For us, they’re going to be relievers or trade bait. Just like Drew Rom last year. If we’re ranking them as relievers then I’m going with McDermott, Johnson, and Povich in that order. Not every failed/flawed starter just magically turns into a reliever. I don’t see a dominant, or even an above average MLB pitch for Povich to use as a carrying tool in the MLB. But maybe he gets a chance to start for a team like Rom did last year and see. We can agree to disagree, and I hope I’m wrong. -
I still believe Mayo would be best used by the Orioles in RF. -

People are being over the top about this kid. Hes off to a great start and the talent is immense but he struggled for a lot of last year. I think we need to see more of a sample size. I have seen some put him over Gunnar and Witt, which is a bit much for me. -
My first thought is that I’m looking forward to how much worse Giancarlo Stanton can get while playing out that contract. Hopefully Judge isn’t too far behind him though I expect he’s got a couple years left before he falls like that. Yankee lineup not impressed. They really need that Dominguez kid to come back and rake, and for Judge to get it going. I wonder if they’ll give that Spencer Jones kid a shot soon Pitching though, looks pretty good to me. If Gil pitches decent ( he sure did against us) and Cortes maintains, they’ll be OK on that front. They also always make a trade or two. The Os should be the favorites in the East, but nationally they won’t be for a while. It will take a long time for people to stop assuming the Yanks are going to either catch us, or that we won’t catch them, depending on the standings at any given time. -

Really excited about this guy. Hope he’s able to spend the second half of the year at Delmarva and be in position to start next year in Aberdeen.
