This worries me. What has made Davis so much better this year is the realization that he doesn't have to hit it 400+ FT home runs to be a great hitter. He can be late on a pitch and still hit it out opposite field if he's not trying to dent the warehouse. This could either completely screw him up or have people asking if it screwed him up when he hits what would otherwise be a normal dead patch. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

He gets personal recognition and recognition for his team. If he wins it, more coverage and national interest in the Orioles. Some positives.

I don't see how glorified batting practice can screw up a hitter like Chris. CD has his head screwed on straight up there. I could maybe see it being a problem if it were Jones. Just because Jones has a more reckless approach than Davis.

Let's all remember that whether Chris participated in the HRD or not, it was always unlikely that he would keep up his current HR pace all season long.
