Yup- and you know what that means... just like golf, as soon as the irons come around, the 3 putts start showing up again....

Why not though? We have several starters with ERAs in the 3's, we have a solid bullpen, good defense, and one of the highest scoring offenses in the league.

What's the problem??

Our high scoring offense is very streaky and because our offense is not based in any way on high OBP type guys, it can predictably go into prolonged and painful funks (like at the start of seasons, or in the middle of seasons, or at the end of seasons.). When our offense is going good, it may very well be one of the best in the league, but when it goes into a cold spell...brrrr! The pitching is the pitching, we shall see about the 3s or whether they turn out to be more like 4s by season's end. But, hopefully, I am wrong and this is just an initial hitch in a long and successful season.
