The playoff-hungry Angels had a 7-game home-stand against the 2 worst teams in the Major Leagues ........ and lost 5 out of those 7 games. ) 

Not only that ........ prior to that punch-in-the gut by the lowly Orioles and Tigers, the Angels had won 4 straight games, and 9 out of 12 since the All-Star break (including a 2-game sweep of the Dodgers, the team with the best record in the Major Leagues.)

It's Captain Obvious that a split is not a win, especially against Detroit where 1-1 is on the line.

I guess when the team is 8-31-8 in 47 series, any excuse to bump a 5 year old thread works.

Correct. A split is not a win, unless the team that you are rooting for is winding down its 2nd consecutive 100-plus loss season.
