Dangit, Angelos is foiling us again.

Whoever compared him to the owner from "Major League" was completely and totally correct. A 5 year deal for Bedard? Adam Jones + 3 (or 4) is worth way more to this ballclub.

If the M's deal doesnt go down and they walk away, I will be pissed cause we were wasting time trying to sign Bedard to an extension.

IF this is true, I'd like to make a prediction.

MacPhail/Angelos asks the Mariners to give them more time. The Mariners tells the O's to stick it. This will be shortly followed by Bedard telling the front office, "on second thought, I'm really not that interested but thanks anyway."

Well, this clears up the mystery of what happened at 9:30PM Sunday night...

Sources close to the Orioles said Wednesday that club owner Peter Angelos wants to keep the ace pitcher and called Bedard last Sunday night to discuss a five-year contract. Bedard said he might be interested and would talk to his agent, Mark Pieper.
