Against Billy Butler Hardy had plenty of time to make a strong throw, instead he handcuffed Pearce with a one hopper.

Chris Davis would have had it but Chris Davis isn't at first.

Can't believe that everyone is in love with this terrible signing.

Hardy's 2014 just screams of a player in decline, from number of games missed to nagging (see older player) injuries to a massive drop in power.

Back to back games Hardy has not made good throws/mental lapses with slow runners going to first. Game 3 against the Tigers had plenty of time to throw MCab out at first but tried for a unnecessary force at 2nd. Yesterday with Billy Butler up to bat have no idea why he didn't take more time on the throw. Very uncharacteristic for him.

I think it's the shoulder.

Started in spring training if I recall correctly.

Hopefully it is something that can improve.

Yeah because bad backs and sore shoulders always improve as a player hits his mid 30's. We'll be very lucky to get 360 games out of this extension. He'll be lucky to have an OPS+ greater than 90 for the period of the extension.

Won't it be fun to watch his defense deteriorate while his OPS+ drops below 90 while paying him 13M+ per year?

It'll be more fun to watch you melt down over every perceived weakness the team has for the foreseeable future. Put you and Birdland in a room and inside 15 minute we're convinced this is 2007 and Trembley just explained why 30-3 isn't as bad as it looks.
