    • I also like what Mateo brings but me thinks the less said the better. May is almost here. And, last year is still fresh in my memory!😄  Rooting for him to do a WHOLE year as a super sub!
    • While it’s not as head turning as last April, I like what Mateo has brought to the team in the early going.  Playing mostly against LHP, he’s hitting .250/.314/.406, and has stolen 6 bases.  His stolen base and big lead off second base afterwards in the 7th was a big distraction to JP Sears during his pitch sequence to Gunnar Henderson, and Sears eventually threw Gunnar a cookie that he clobbered for a 2-run homer.  Palmer commented something like “don’t tell me that speed doesn’t bother a pitcher.”    Overall I feel Mateo is having better strike zone judgment than usual so far.  We know that could change at any minute, but it’s been nice for now.
    • Agree.  That would be ideal.  Especially the leg kick.  I looked for video from last night and couldn't find anything.
    • My hope is it takes a little longer to get going because they are having him make adjustments.
    • Well, I know.  And I really like Cionel, and root hard for him. He did a nice job of turning his season around last year, and I hope he can pull a rabbit out of his hat again.  But I’m not real confident.
    • Really pleasantly surprised that he seemingly has healed up so quickly after the platelet injection.   I had the same injury plus a chip the size of a quarter in my elbow at the tear spot and didn't get surgery either.  This was around 2 years ago.   I was bowling and my elbow just completely blew out during one of my shots.   Turned black and blue and the entire elbow swelled up.   Went to the specialist and got the MRI and xrays and it was a mess.   Of course they recommended surgery but seeing as how I was bowling in multiple tournies and leagues at the time, and lifting weights, I decided against it as surgery would have laid me up for many months.   So I rested it, kept lightly working out, and within 45 days or so the swelling and discoloration went away and I started bowling again and have bowled 10-15 games a week since with little issue.   I just feel twinges now and then.  Working out 4 days a week as well.  So it is possible to come back from this without surgery.   Of course I am not trying to throw a baseball 90 mph every 5 days either.   That is really the only time it hurts, when I throw overhand.  Of course he doesn't have a bone chip in his elbow either.  Just the small tear.   If he can get through the first few games without a problem I think he will last the year.   We shall see.
